SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Please read through before submitting.
Due to the volume of submissions, we unfortunately cannot provide feedback to every submitted piece, but will get in touch to let you know if your submission has been successful.
Subscribe to our newsletter for future submission calls!
We accept English-language submissions, both fiction and non-fiction. Mark the submission with your name and the type of submission. Please add a synopsis/description of each piece.
A short author's profile with a brief description is encouraged. Please include your name, and if you wish to use a pen name, let us know.
Erato Magazine are looking for all forms of writing - fiction, poetry, reviews, essays, long-form interviews, memoirs, and articles.
We no longer take translations or previously published work.
We accept pitches for essays, articles and interviews, but please keep them brief and precise, preferably under 300 words.
Written submissions can be up to 2500 words and must be submitted in Word-format. Send an additional pdf file if your work requires special formatting.
With exception of poetry, photography and visual art, please only submit one piece at a time. For poetry, submit all your poems in one document.
Multimedia artwork, such as video or audio pieces, are encouraged.
We reserve rights to make minor grammatical changes, but the overall editing responsibility lies with the author.
If you submit to us, you acknowledge that Erato Magazine reserve worldwide First Serial Rights, as well as non-exclusive Electronic Archival Rights to show your work on our site over an indefinite period of time. Upon publication, copyright naturally reverts to you, the author. If your work is published elsewhere, be it print or online, we ask that Erato are acknowledged and credited as first publishers.
Under no circumstances will we publish anything racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or harmful to other marginalised groups.
Erato Magazine is a non-profit platform and thus can currently not provide payment to successful contributions, though we hope to in the future. Contributors to print issues will of course receive a free issue!
No submission fees.
